It’s a Happy Thanksgiving indeed!  We just learned that several Somerset Ridge wines won awards from the prestigious Jefferson Cup Invitational wine competition held last week.

Our 2009 Cabernet Franc Reserve was a Jefferson Cup Nominee (equivalent to a double gold medal), the 2010 Crimson Cabernet Barrel Reserve won a Medal of Excellence (equivalent to a gold medal) and our ever-popular Citron won a silver medal!

We are especially proud of the Crimson Cabernet award. We are the first winery in the world to commercially produce wine from this grape, so this is the first award ever won by this varietal. We are looking forward to future vintages of this wine. The 2010 was made from relatively young vines and future vintages should get better and better!
