Spiced Lucky Dog Fizz
Yield: 1 glass
Materials
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup club soda
- 1/4 cup Somerset Ridge Lucky Dog Hard Apple Cider
- 2 tbsp Spiced Simple Syrup recipe below
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- lemon Wedge
Spiced Simple Syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 6 cardamom pods
- 4 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks
- 3 star anise pods
- 1 tbsp sliced fresh ginger
- 1 tsp black peppercorns
- 1/2 tsp whole fennel seeds
Instructions
Spiced Simple Syrup
- Combine sugar, water, cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, star ansie pods, ginger, peppercorns, and fennel seeds in a small saucepan
- Bring to a boil over medium-high, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves
- Reduce heat to medium, and simmer 20 minutes
- Remove from heat
- Cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes
- Pour through a fine wire-mesh strainer--discarding solids
- Store in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 2 weeks
Mix Your Cocktail
- Fill Collins glass with ice
- Combine bourbon, soda water, Lucky Dog Hard Cider, Spiced Simple Syrup, and lemon juice
- Pour into glass
- Squeeze lemon wedge over cocktail
- Serve immediately
